Hearing loss is one of the chronic health problems more common, affecting people of all ages.
The incidence increases with age. This may be hereditary or may be the result of disease, trauma, long-term exposure to noise, or medication.

Deafness is a hearing loss that impairs the ability to receive, discrimination, association and understanding of both environmental sounds and the spoken language. Hearing loss is greater than 70 decibels

Hearing  is a partial loss of hearing. This loss can be mild or superficial to moderate and may be unilateral or bilateral, this loss may be more than 40 decibels below.

Classifications  by the characteristics
Quantitative classification: according to the amount of hearing loss.
Classification topographic: with respect to the place where the lesion occurs settles the deficit.
Etiological classification: according to the etiology of hearing loss.
Illocutionary Classification: in relation to language.
A lot of people with this problems use hearing aids:
A hearing aid is an electronic medical device that amplifies and changes sound to allow better communication. Hearing aids receive sound through a microphone, which then converts sound waves into electrical signals. The amplifier increases the volume of signals and then sends the sound to the ear through a speaker.
